Remembrance and Liberation Days in the Netherlands

Queen Beatrix, the Prince of Orange and Princess Máxima have spent the past two days marking the Netherlands’ Remembrance and Liberation Days, held each year on May 4th and 5th, respectively. Queen Beatrix and Prince Philip Honour Liberation of Nijmegen

HM Queen Beatrix and HRH the Duke of Edinburgh yesterday commemorated the 65th anniversary of the liberation of the Dutch city of Nijmegen from German occupation during World War II. King of Morocco recognizes the Holocaust

The 45 year old King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, has formally admitted the Holocaust. Emperor Akihito’s tuberculosis battle

At an event celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Japan Anti-Tuberculosis Association in Tokyo on Wednesday, Emperor Akihito of Japan revealed that he had, in his youth, been battling for four years with tuberculosis.
