Funeral of the Count of Paris in Dreux
On February 2; it was the funeral Prince Henri, Count of Paris at the royal chapel in Dreux, the official burial site of members of the Orleanist royal family. The Count passed away on 21 January before he was due to attend the memorial mass for Louis XVI of France in Paris. His wife was unable to attend. On May 29th the remains of Diane de Poitiers, mistress of King Henri II of France, was reinterred at the Chateau d’Anet. The ceremony was attended by the Duchess of France, sister-in-law to the pretender of the French throne, and by princess Michael of Kent.
