Queen of Bhutan Opens Bhutan-Thailand Festival
Bhutan’s Queen Jetsun Pema has attended the opening day of the first Bhutan-Thailand Festival at the Youth Development Fund Multipurpose Hall in Thimphu on Friday. The Queen was given a tour of the festival, which is being held to celebrate the friendships and “shared common spiritual heritage” between Bhutan and Thailand. Starting March 9th to the 12th, Malaysian King Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin will start a state visit to Thailand the spokesman of the Thai Foreign Ministry said Friday. Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya assured the Malaysians that Thailand has been fully prepared to receive the King of Malaysia during the state visit, a spokesman of the Thai Foreign Ministry said.

King Carl XVI Gustaf has returned home following a three day visit, between February 17 and 19, to Thailand to attend the Baden-Powell Followship’s event. The event was on the February 17; and the following day, the King officially launched a new scout group at a school in Pattaya for visually impaired children. Carl XVI Gustaf presented the new scouts with scout neckerchiefs, as member of several Swedish scouting organisations.
