Queen Sirikit of Thailand, née Mom Rajawongse Sirikit Kitiyakara, celebrates her 80th birthday today, 12 August. The Queen was born as the oldest daughter and third child of Prince Nakkhatra Mangkala Kitiyakara, Prince of Chanthaburi, and Mom Luang Bua Sanidvongs. Her siblings are the late Mom Rajawongse Galyanakit Kitiyakara, Mom Rajawongse Adulyakit Kitiyakara and Mom Rajawongse Busba Kitiyakara. Prince Naruhito Begins Visit to Thailand

Japan’s Crown Prince Naruhito has begun an official visit to Thailand today, arriving in Bangkok this morning. Upon his arrival, the Crown Prince inspected an honour guard. The Prince was officially welcomed at Government House by the country’s Prime Minister, Ms Yingluck Shinawatra. HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand celebrated his eighty-forth birthday today, appearing on the balcony of the Grand Palace in Bangkok. Thai People Celebrate Queen’s 77th Birthday

The world’s longest serving consort of a monarch, HM Queen Sirikit of Thailand, celebrates her 77th birthday today. Several festivels will today will mark the Queen’s Birthday throughout Phuket. A mothers and daughters fashion show entitled ‘My mom is beautiful’, candle-lighting ceremony later this evening and Phuket Rajabhat University will host a variety of activities. August 12 is also marked as Mother’s Day in Thailand.

Thai King checks into hospital for check-ups

Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej has checked into Bangkok’s Siriraj Hospital for a few check-up which is scheduled to start today Thursday, said a hospital official.
