200th Anniversary of Waterloo Commemorations Begin in Belgium

Commemorations marking the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo begun today in Belgium, where King Philippe and Queen Mathilde hosted a dinner for the descendants of the battle’s main commanders. Attending were Prince Jean-Christoph Napoleon, the Marquess and Marchioness of Douro, Prince Nicolaus Blücher and his son and daughter-in-law, Prince Pieter-Christiaan of the Netherlands, and Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg.
