Third Child for Félix and Claire: Balthasar

Prince Félix and Princess Claire of Luxembourg expanded their family yesterday with the birth of their second son and third child. The baby was born in the Grand Duchess Charlotte Maternity Hospital in Luxemborug Ville and was given the names Balthasar Felix Karl. He weighs 3220 grams and is 50 cm long. Earlier this week, Luxembourg’s Prince Félix and Princess Claire made the trip to Cannes for a gala benefiting Le Sourire de Lucie, a charity which raises money to support sufferers of the rare Sjögren-Larsson Syndrome, a recessive type of ichthyosis. The Grand Ducal Court of Luxembourg has announced that Princess Claire was safely delivered of a son early this morning in Geneva. The newborn was born at 3:59am today at Geneva’s Beaulieu General Clinic. Both the infant and Princess Claire are doing well. The Grand Ducal Court of Luxembourg has announced this morning that Prince Félix and Princess Claire are expecting their second child. The baby is due in the autumn. National Day Celebrated in Luxembourg

Following yesterday’s evening events to kick-off National Day, the main events were held today in Luxembourg to mark the occasion. First up was a ceremony at the Salle de concerts Grande-Duchesse Josephine-Charlotte in which awards and honours were presented to citizens of merit. The two-day celebrations of Luxembourg’s National Day began today, with visits to Troisvierges and Esch-sur-Alzette by the Grand Ducal and Hereditary Grand Ducal Couples.
