A £37million renovation project will see numerous works undertaken at Windsor Castle in Berkshire and the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. The funding comes entirely from the Royal Collection Trust. £27million will be spent on Windsor Castle, which will boast a new visitors centre and a learning centre for schoolchildren once the renovations are completed at the end of 2018. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have begun their annual week-long stay at the Palace of Holyroodhouse today, with the traditional Ceremony of the Keys taking place in the Palace’s forecourt.
