Nobel Peace Prize 2010

Today the Nobel Peace Prize Award ceremony took place in Oslo. This year Chinese human rights activist Liu Xiaobo was awarded for his long and non-violent fight for human rights in China. Xiaobo is imprisoned in China and wasn’t present at the award ceremony in Oslo. Therefore the chair of the prize winner on the podium was left empty during the ceremony. Nobel Prize Awards Ceremony 2009

The awards ceremony for the 2009 Nobel Prize Awards took place at the Stockholm Concert Hall last night, Thursday December 10th. The awards were presented by HM King Carl XVI Gustaf, as he does each year. The entire Swedish Royal Family was also in attendance. Today the members of the Norwegian Royal House attended the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony at Oslo City Hall, at which US President Barack Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009. On December 10th, the 2009 Nobel Prizes will be awarded to this year’s recipients. In Norway, US President Barack Obama will be presented with the Nobel Peace Prize at 13:00 local time, in the presence of the Norwegian Royal Family. During the week, the Nobel Prize committee in Stockholm announced the winners of the Nobel Prizes in Medicine, Physics, Chemistry and Literature. Barack Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize 2009

Today the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced that the Nobel Peace Prize 2009 goes to US President Barack Obama.
