The Crown Prince of Norway has been in the west African country of Liberia this week in his role as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nation’s Development Program. Queen Mathilde Attends Ebola Conference in Brussels

Today, Tuesday March 3, Queen Mathilde participated in a conference about ebola at the Egmont Palace in Brussels. Nobel Peace Prize 2011

This year’s Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to the Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Liberia’s peace activist Leymah Gbowee and Yemen’s human rights activist Tawakkul Karman “for their non-violent struggle for the safety of women and for women’s rights to full participation in peace-building work”, according to a release from the prize committee. Mathilde on UNAIDS Mission to Liberia

Belgium’s Princess Mathilde has undertaken a United Nations Mission to Liberia. Mathilde was invited due to her role as special representative of UNICEF and UNAIDS, to raise awareness for the problems around “children and HIV/AIDS”.
