Photo Session in Wassenaar

The King and Queen of the Netherlands yesterday posed for their annual summer photo session at their home in Wassenaar. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima yesterday paid a visit to the Jewish community in Amsterdam, as part of their 375th anniversary celebrations. The couple were given a tour of the synagogue, where they were told about the interior of the building and given a history of the Nederlands Israëlitische Hoofdsynagoge (Dutch Jewish Main Synagogue). Prince Maurits Receives Aide-de-Camp Appointment

Prince Maurits was today appointed to the post of aide-de-camp extraordinary to his cousin, King Willem-Alexander. The new King also promoted his cousin to the rank of Captain-Lieutenant in the Dutch Royal Navy. Bea Hosts Black-Tie Dinner Ahead of Abdication

Ahead of her abdication tomorrow, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands tonight hosted a black-tie dinner at the recently renovated Rijksmuseum for foreign guests. As per tradition, this year the Dutch Royal Family attended the National Volunteer Day, NL DOET, on March 15 and 16. First Official Visit Announced for Willem-Alexander
