A New Baby In The Orléans-Braganza Family

It has been announced that Princess Amélia of Orléans-Braganza and her husband James Spearman have welcomed their first child, a son. The infant, who has been named Alexander Joaquim Pedro, was born in Madrid on August 30. He is the first grandchild of Prince Antonio and Princess Christine of Orléans-Braganza. Princess Amélia and Mr Spearman were married in August 2014.

On August 16, Princess Amélia of Orléans-Braganza married James Spearman at the Church of Nossa Senhora do Monte do Carmo da Antige Sé in Rio de Janerio, Brazil. The bride is the daughter of Prince Antônio of Orléans-Braganza and his wife, Princess Christine de Ligne. As per an announcement in The Times today, an engagement has taken place in the House of Orléans-Braganza, the former ruling house of Imperial Brazil. Princess Amélia, the elder daughter of Prince Antonio of Orléans-Braganza and Princess Christine de Ligne, is engaged to Mr James Spearman.
