A Death in the Schaumburg-Lippe Family: Prince Nicolai Passes at 27

Sad news came out of the Princely House of Schaumburg-Lippe yesterday, Prince Nicolai – the only son of Prince York zu Schaumburg-Lippe – passed away in December at the age of 27. Bunte reports that Prince Nicolai succumbed to his HIV illness on December 4. He had been infected at birth, transmitted from his mother, Susanne Seidensticker, who had been infected with the illness during a blood transfusion (she herself died from the illness in 1992). … Continue reading

Schloss Bückeburg, the fairytale-like seat of the Schaumburg-Lippe family, never looked better than yesterday, when the sympathetic Fürst Alexander (aka “Schaumi”) celebrated the opening of the restaurant in the park of the castle. Fürst Alexander and Fürstin Nadja-Anna Have Separated

The heirs of Hanover yesterday officially opened The Road To The Crown – The Kingdom of Hanover and Its Rulers exhibition celebrating the history of the Hanoverian Kingdom. Deaths in the Houses of Bavaria and Schaumburg-Lippe

There have been two deaths this past week in former German royal houses. Princess Editha of Bavaria, the third child of Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria and his second wife Princess Antonia of Luxembourg, passed away on May 4th. Prince Christian zu Schaumburg-Lippe Weds

Yesterday July 25th, HSH Prince Christian zu Schaumburg-Lippe wed his fiancée, Lena Giese, in a religious ceremony at Glücksburg Castle in Germany. The pair had previously been married in a civil ceremony on Friday.
