Her Royal Highness Duchess Ameli of Oldenburg, née Princess zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg, passed away at Eutin on 26 March 2016, aged 93. She was born on 4 March 1923 as the eldest child of Fürst Udo zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg and of his wife, née Countess Margarete zu Castell-Castell. Local press reports that Dowager Fürstin Eilika of Leiningen has died this tuesday in Amorbach, aged 87. The princess died a few days before her 88th birthday on February 2nd. It was announced yesterday that Duchess Donata of Oldenburg, the mother of Prince Georg Friedrich of Prussia, has died after a long illness. She died on Saturday September 5. According to the statement released by her family, the Duchess died at a hospital in Traunstein, aged 65. The nature of her illness was not disclosed.
