Her Royal Highness Duchess Ameli of Oldenburg, née Princess zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg, passed away at Eutin on 26 March 2016, aged 93. She was born on 4 March 1923 as the eldest child of Fürst Udo zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg and of his wife, née Countess Margarete zu Castell-Castell. Fürstin Eilika of Leiningen Dies A Few Days Before Her 88th Birthday

Local press reports that Dowager Fürstin Eilika of Leiningen has died this tuesday in Amorbach, aged 87. The princess died a few days before her 88th birthday on February 2nd. Fürstin Eilika was born HH Duchess Eilika of Oldenburg in 1922. She was the fourth child of Hereditary Grand Duke Nikolaus of Oldenburg and his wife Princess Helena of Waldeck-Pyrmont. Duchess Donata of Oldenburg Has Passed Away

It was announced yesterday that Duchess Donata of Oldenburg, the mother of Prince Georg Friedrich of Prussia, has died after a long illness. She died on Saturday September 5. According to the statement released by her family, the Duchess died at a hospital in Traunstein, aged 65. The nature of her illness was not disclosed. Ten days ago the French newspaper ‘Le Figaro’ announced the engagement between Duchess Tatiana of Oldenburg and the French count Axel de Chavagnac. Duchess Tatiana is the youngest daughter of duke Johann of Oldenburg and countess Ilka of Ortenberg. Her elder sister Eilika married Archduke Georg of Austria in 1997.
