The Swedish Royal Court has announced that Countess Gunnilla Bernadotte af Wisborg, aunt of both King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, has passed away at the age of 93. “The Countess was a very much appreciated, close and faithful friend of our family and leaves us in great loss,” a statement from the King said. A memorial concert was held on August 30th at the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, to mark the 100th anniversary of the late Queen Ingrid’s birth.
