Crown Princess Mary Opens New Christmas Seal Home in Roskilde

On Friday, Denmark’s Crown Princess paid a visit to Roskilde, for the official opening of the Christmas Seal Foundation’s new home, Liljeborg. Count Ingolf & Countess Sussie Celebrate Milestone Birthdays

Danish Count Ingolf and Countess Sussie of Rosenborg recently celebrated two milestone birthdays – their respective 70th and 60th – in a joint party. The “130th” birthday party was held at the Munkebjerg Hotel in Vejle, and amongst the guests were Ingolf’s elder sister Princess Elisabeth and younger brother Count Christian. Princess Mary launches 2009 Christmas Seal

Crown Princess Mary yesterday launched the 2009 Christmas Seal (Julemærkefonden), at the Tivoli Amusement Park. This year’s stamps were designed by Birgitte Els-Schleuder, who says her inspiration for the designs were “old poetic Christmas decorations.” Mary met with Els-Schleuder and several young girls from the Foundation homes at the launch, before revealing this year’s stamp. Salary Increase for the Danish Royal Family

According to politiken.dk, the Danish Royal Family will next year receive an increase in their allowances totalling 1.9 million kroner. The Queen’s husband Prince Henrik will receive a total budget of 7.1 million kroner, which is a rise of 200,000 kroner from last year, whilst Prince Joachim and Princess Marie will receive an increase of 100,000 kroner, for a total of 3.1 million.
