Funeral of Princess Alix of Luxembourg, Dowager Princess de Ligne

On February 16, the funeral of Princess Alix of Luxembourg, Dowager Princess de Ligne took place at the Saint-Pierre Church in Beloiel, Belgium. Princess Alix had passed away on 11 February at the age of 89 and leaves behind seven children, twenty grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, though one of her grandchildren, Prince Pedro of Brazil, was killed in a plane crash in 2006. A Daughter for Archduchess Gabriella and Prince Henri

Some surprising news comes out of Luxembourg today, as it was announced that Archduchess Gabriella of Austria, the younger daughter of Archduke Carl Christian and Archduchess Marie Astrid, welcomed her first child back in October. Luxembourg’s Grand Ducal Family on Vacation in Southern France

Almost the entire Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg decamped to the south of France recently for their summer vacation. Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa were joined by four of their five children, as well as the Grand Duke’s siblings with some of their own families.
