The Cheffins auction house in Cambridgeshire has sold six letters handwritten by Diana, Princess of Wales in an auction lot full of royal memorabilia, for over five times the estimate. Coming from the estate of Cyril Dickman, who was chief palace steward and worked for the Royal Family for over 50 years beginning during World War Two, the letters fetched £15,100, well above the estimated £2,300-£3,600. Sad news came out of the Princely House of Schaumburg-Lippe yesterday, Prince Nicolai – the only son of Prince York zu Schaumburg-Lippe – passed away in December at the age of 27. 79-year-old Queen Paola of Belgium is currently receiving treatment at the Cliniques universitaires Saint Luc in Brussels after a heavy fall resulted in a spinal fracture.
