It has been announced that Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, the former Emir of Qatar, passed away on Sunday. He was 84 years old. The Sheikh was Emir of Qatar from 1972 to 1995, when was ousted in a coup by his son, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa. His grandson, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, is the current Emir. In the stands tonight at the AIK versus IK Pantern ice hockey match at Hovet Stadium were the adorable Swedish father-daughter duo of Prince Daniel and Princess Estelle. Animatedly watching the action (the home team took the spoils, 4-2), Estelle looked to be highly enjoying the evening as she clutched a stuffed AIK mascot. Prince Daniel pointed things out and explained different elements to his daughter throughout the match.
