On May 07, 2001, Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium officially announced the first pregnancy of Princess Mathilde (Image). Their first child, daughter Elisabeth Thérèse Marie Hélène, was born on October 25, 2001 at 9:58pm at the Eramus Hospital in Anderlecht, Brussels. First Speech for Princess Elisabeth

Princess Elisabeth (9) opened, together with her parents Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde, the new children’s hospital ‘Princess Elisabeth’ in Gent on September 7. For this first official engagement of the Princess, 10 camera crews and more then 40 journalists showed up. Back to School for the Belgian Youngsters

September 1st is traditionally the first day of school in Belgium. The children of Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde, and also the youngest daughter of Princess Astrid, go to school at the ‘Sint Jan Berghmans College’ in Brussels.
