Prince Christian zu Schaumburg-Lippe Weds
Yesterday July 25th, HSH Prince Christian zu Schaumburg-Lippe wed his fiancée, Lena Giese, in a religious ceremony at Glücksburg Castle in Germany. The pair had previously been married in a civil ceremony on Friday.
The groom’s six-year-old niece Tatiana, the daughter of Princess Desiree of Schaumburg-Lippe, presented the couple with their wedding rings during the ceremony; a moment which the Prince later described as “a beautiful and unique moment.”
Among the wedding guests were HM Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, who is a cousin of the groom’s father Prince Wilhelm, and HSH Prince Alexander of Schaumburg-Lippe, the head of the Schaumburg-Lippe family.
Christian and Lena met through mutual friends, before learning that they were neighbours in Hamburg. The pair plan to continue living in the northern-German city.
The afternoon wedding was followed by a reception with 120 guests at the Castle.
