Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia Visit El Salvador
On May 30, the Prince and the Princess of Asturias arrived at San Salvador, El Salvador, to visit the President elect, Mauricio Funes.
In the afternoon, Prince Felipe and Princess Letzia inaugurated the Spanish Agency of Cooperation’s Tecnic office. During their visit to the new office the Prince and the Princess were informed about the different cooperation projects in El Salvador.
On Saunday Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia had a private meeting with the former President of El Salvador, Elias Antonio Saca, in the Presidential Residence. Afterward the Prince of Asturias, accompanied by the Spanish ambassador in El Salvador and the State Secretary for Latin America, met with the President elect Mauricio Funes, where they talked on the bilateral relations between Spain and El Salvador. The Prince and Princess also met with the Spanish community living in El Salvador.
In the evening Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia attended an official dinner at the Presidential Residence, hosted by the Former President in honour of the states’ representatives whose attended the Inauguration.
On monday, Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia attended the Inauguration Ceremony which was held at the International Centre of Fairs and Conventions in San Salvador. After the luncheon hosted on the occasion of the new President’s Inauguration, the Prince and the Princess left for Spain.
