Jordan’s King: Undercover Visit to a Patients’ Affairs Department
His Majesty King Abdullah made an undercover visit to the Health Ministry’s Patients’ Affairs Department on Wednesday. King Abdullah arrived at the department located in Shmeisani behind Le Meridien at about 10:00am, sat in the waiting area for a form which then was given to him by a front desk official.
The king was dressed in a black traditional dress red and white kuffiyah and was sporting a black beard. He was also seen walking on a cane in the waiting area and talking to people and asking them about what services are offered by the department. A source told the Jordan times “After filling in the application, the King queued up to see a doctor.” Another source said that the king helped a patient to fill out his form in the waiting area.
Royal court official declined to responed to the visit, which lasted no more than 30-minutes. This is the 6th time King Abdullah has gone undercover. Four times in 1999 which was a visit to the Zarqa-based Free Trade Zone and 3 visits to Amman’s Al Bashir Hospital within a period of six weeks. 2001 he paid a visit to the Income Tax Department with Prince Ali.
