French State Visit to Sweden – Last Day

The second and last day of the state visit from France to Sweden started today, Wednesday January 31, with a business seminar attended by King Carl Gustaf, President Macron, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel and French and Swedish Ministers and business leaders. The seminar, held at Stockholm City Hall, was titled “Accelerating Europe’s competitiveness”.
Then, in Lund, the King and the President paid a visit to the headquarter of the European Spallation Source (ESS), “a multi-disciplinary research facility based on the world’s most powerful neutron source”. There they visited the ESS accelerator and met with representatives of the company.
Afterwards King Carl Gustaf and President Macron visited the headquarters of Alfa Laval, “a leading global provider of first-rate products in the areas of heat transfer, separation and fluid handling”.
In the meantime Queen Silvia and Brigitte Macron paid a visit to Barnahus (Children’s house), a safe house where children exposed to crime can be protected.
Later the Queen and the First Lady visited the Friends foundation, an organization founded in 1997 that works “to prevent bullying among children and young people”.
Then King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia greeted the French President and the First Lady moved to the Lund University where they attended the Studentafton, a forum organized by the students.
The state visit ended with a reception hosted by the President and the First Lady in honour of King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia at the University.
