Albert II and Charlène Start Monaco Christmas Festivities

Monaco’s Christmas Village kicked off with a Princely procession led by Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene and Princess Stéphanie, honouring the hundred years since the birth of Prince Rainier III. The couple then headed to the Place du Casino to officially light the giant Christmas tree.

The evening began at 4pm, with the Princely family arriving at 5:30pm to commence the inauguration.Prince Albert II inaugurated the event with a speech in honour of his father, Prince Rainier III, followed by the Monegasque national anthem. The Princely family then starteded their tour of the village.
