Albert and Charlene arrived at St Nicholas Cathedral for the Te Deum this morning, together with Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie. Charlene wore a striking red outfit. This was probably an ode to the national flag, which has red and white as its colors. After the Te Deum the Princely family appeared at the window of the palace.
Monaco’s National Day, also known as Prince’s Day, is celebrated every year on November 19. In the past, it was customary for the reigning prince to choose the date of the national holiday. But Albert II put an end to that custom and decided to keep the holiday on November 19, as his father Rainier III had decided.
The day ended with a a concert in the Grimaldi forum, which was attended by Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene, Princess Caroline, her daughter Princess Alexandra of Hannover and by Sean et Chantell Wittstock.
