The Dutch State Visit to South Africa Ends in Cape Town

Today, Friday October 20, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima started the third and last day in South Africa by visiting Cape Town where they were received by Alan Winde, Premier of the Western Cape province of South Africa, and his wife and the mayor, Geordin Hill-Lewis.
Then the Royal Couple paid a visit to the Slave Lodge, a South African social history museum, to attend performances about the history of slavery.
Later the King and the Queen visited the Guga S’Thebe Cultural Centre, “a public space where communities can come together and enjoy art, design and performance”.
In the afternoon the state visit continued with a separate agenda: King Willem-Alexander visited the “Kirstenbosch National Botanical, while Queen Maxima paid a visit to Horti-Demo Center, “a collaborative project showcasing Dutch innovation within the South African horticulture context”.
The state visit ended with reception for the Dutch community living in South Africa.
