British Royal Family Celebrate First Trooping The Colour Of New Reign
The British Royal Family has come out to celebrate Trooping the Colour, the military ceremony that marks the sovereign’s official birthday. The King was saluted as Colonel in Chief of the seven regiments of the Household Division on Horse Guards Parade.
For the first trooping the colour during the reign of King Charles III the King was joined by a small part of the royal family. He was escorted on horseback by his eldest son, the Prince of Wales, his sister the princess Royal and by his youngest brother the Duke of Edinburgh. The Queen followed in the Ascot Landau for the ride to Horse Guards Parade from Buckingham Palace. She was joined by the Princess of Wales and her three children. The carriage was followed by another one, with the Duchess of Edinburgh and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.
The Duke of Kent and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester joined the other members of the royal family for the traditional balcony appearance.
