The Prince and Princess of Wales Attend The BAFTAs 2023
On Sunday February 19, the Prince and Princess of Wales attended the BAFTA Awards 2023 at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
During the ceremony Dame Helen Mirren, who played Queen Elizabeth II in 2006’s biographical drama “The Queen” winning an Oscar and Bafta, paid a tribute to the late Queen saying: “Cinema at its best, does what Her Majesty did effortlessly — bring us together and unite us in a story. Your Majesty, you were our nation’s leading star. On behalf of BAFTA, thank you for all that you have done for our film and television industry.”
Among the winners were Cate Blanchett as Best Actress and Austin Butler as Best Actor.
The Princess of Wales wore white one-shoulder Alexander McQueen gown, previously worn at the 2019 BAFTAs, matched with long black gloves, black clutch, gold pumps and Zara earrings.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) was founded in 1947 and in 1959 the late Duke of Edinburgh became the organisation’s first president.
In February 2010 the Prince of Wales was appointed as president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
