Last Day in Bangladesh for Queen Mathilde
Queen Mathilde started her third and last day in Bangladesh today, Wednesday February 8, with the field visits. The first one was in the Sutarkhali Union where the Queen was informed about the UN-supported LoGIC project that aims to improve “local level planning and a strengthened financing mechanism for community-based climate change adaptation solutions through local government”.
Then, in the city of Khulna, Queen Mathilde saw the impact of climate change and met with local communities to know how they are adapting.
Back in the capital Dhaka, the Queen concluded the working visit with several institutional meeting. Upon the arrival at the airport the Queen received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, AK Abdul Momen. Afterwards she met with the country’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina at Ganobhaban, the official residence of the Prime Minister to be informed about the efforts made by Bangladesh to implement the SDG agendas. Then the Queen met with the President of Bangladesh, Abdul Hamid, at the presidential palace, Bangabhaban.
