Swedish Royals Attend 2022 Nobel Prize Awards
Yesterday, Saturday December 10, Their Majesties King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia, along with Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Princess Christina and Tord Magnuson attended the 2022 edition of the Nobel Prize, with a gala ceremony held at the Stockholm’s Concert Hall. Countess Bettina Bernadotte and her husband Philipp Haugg were also present.
This year the laureates were: Professor Alain Aspect, Dr John F. Clauser and Professor Dr Anton Zeilinger for Physics; Profes. sor Carolyn R. Bertozzi, Professor Morten Meldal and Professor K. Barry Sharpless for Chemistry; Dr Svante Pääbo for Physiology or Medicine; Annie Ernaux for Literature; Dr Ben S. Bernanke, Professor Douglas W. Diamond and Professor Philip H. Dybvig for Economic Sciences.
King Carl Gustaf presented each of the laureates with their Prizes, a diploma and Nobel Medal.
Queen Silvia wore a purple long sleeves lace dress with a silk train matched with the tiara and jewels from the Amethyst Parure. Crown Princess Victoria wore a pink princess cut satin dress designed by Camilla Thulin matched with the Six Button Tiara, diamonds drop earrings and a necklace with pink and blue gemstones. Princess Sofia wore a light blue three quarter sleeves dress in sheer silk organza with handmade embroidery of flowers designed by Ida Lanto and paired with her wedding tiara with blue topazes setting with matched earrings.
Following the awards ceremony took place the banquet in held at the Stockholm’s City Hall at the presence of around 1,500 guests.
It was the first fully in-person awards ceremony following the two years marked by the coronavirus outbreak.
