King Philippe and Queen Mathilde Official Visit to the State of Rhineland-Palatinate: Last Day

Today, Thuesday October 6th, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde started the second and last day of the official visit to the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate by visiting Sankt Goar, a town in the Middle Rhine Valley. From the town they took a boat ride to the town of Boppard. During the boat trip on the Rhine, the Royal Couple, along with Malu Dreyer, Prime Minister, and other members of the government, attended a discussion focused on sustainability and the impact of climate change on the activities of the area.
At the arrival in Boppard the King and the Queen were welcomed by Jörg Haseneier, Mayor of the town, and then they moved by car to the city of Koblenz.
Arrived in Koblenz the Royal Couple took a cable car to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress that is located in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley and since 2002 has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the fortress the Kig and the Queen signed the golden book of the city of Koblen and, along with Prime Minister, and other members of the government, attended a working meeting focused “on interregional energy cooperation and social projects supporting the resilience of populations severely affected by the health crisis”.
