Queen Máxima’s Working Visit to United States: Day Two

Queen Máxima’s second day in the United States started today, Wednesday September 7, with a visit at the University of California in Berkeley. During the visit was marked the fiftieth anniversary of the Dutch course at the University and was launched a new Dutch Network for Academics in the US (DNA-US), a network “established to strengthen the bilateral relations between the Netherlands and the United States through academic cooperation”.
Then Queen Máxima made a stop at the Golden Gate Bridge along with Liesje Schreinemacher, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation and London Breed, Mayor of San Francisco. Following the visit at the bridge, the Queen had lunch with Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.
The Dutch ambassador to the US, Andre Haspels, and Minister Schreinemacher were present as well.
In the afternoon the Queen paid a visit to Google headquarters where she was informed about “Google’s climate ambitions, sustainable solutions and innovations that contribute to combating climate change and the role of Google in the Netherlands”.
Afterwards Queen Maxima paid a visit to the Stanford University, in the Silicon Valley, where she met with students, scientists and innovators who work and study in Silicon Valley. During the visit at the University the Queen attended a seminar focused on “artificial intelligence in mobility and healthcare” and met with the Dutch community who work for American tech companies.
