Princess Märtha Louise of Norway and Durek Verrett Are Engaged

Norwegian princess Märtha Louise is engaged to American shaman Durek Verrett. The couple announced this on Tuesday. It is not yet known when the wedding will take place.

Her parents, King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway, officially congratulated the couple via a message on the website of the Norwegian royal family. Crown Prince Haakon and his wife Mette-Marit also wish the couple good luck in the future.

50-year-old Märtha Louise and Verrett (47) have been in a relationship since 2019. That caused quite a stir, because the two went on a tour together that they called ‘The Princess and the Shaman’. After consulting her family, the princess now makes a clearer separation between her royal activities and her own, more spiritual, activities.

Märtha Louise was married to Ari Behn between 2002 and 2017. With him she had three daughters. Behn took his own life in 2019.
