State visit from Qatar to Spain

His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani and his wife Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, paid a two-day State Visit to Spain on May 17-18.
Upon their arrival in Spain, the Emir and his wife were officially welcomed by Their Majesties King Felipe and Queen Letizia. The welcoming ceremony took place in the courtyard of the Royal Palace where the King and the Emir inspected the battalion of the Royal Guard and the national anthems were played.
Then, at the Zarzuela Palace, took place a meeting between the Royal Couple with the Emir and his wife, followed by a luncheon.
The King and the Emir also had a meeting with Ministers of both countries.
In the evening the King and the Queen hosted a gala dinner at the Royal Palace in honor of Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani and Sheikha Jawaher Bint Hamad Bin Suhaim Al Thani.
In his speech the King congratulated with the Emir “on what your country has achieved in recent times, especially since your accession to the throne”adding that: “I would also like to emphasize the contacts between our respective societies, which are so important to consolidate the friendship between our peoples”.
The second and last day, on Wednesday May 18, the Emir had several insitutional meeting.
