King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima Launch The King’s Game

Today, Friday April 22, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima were present at the opening of the tenth edition of King’s Game at the Poptahof Community School in Delft, in the province of South Holland. The theme of this year’s edition is “Feel fit!”
Along with more than 500 pupils, the Royal Couple attended the breakfast held on the first day of the Games followed by the performance of the “Kinderen voor kinderen” choir.
Then, in the schoolyard, in the presence of the King and the Queen, the kids started the activities planned for the event, including kickboxing, archery and handballs. Also King WIllem-Alexander and Queen Maxima tried the archery.
This year, more than 1.2 million children from more than 6,000 schools took part in the King’s Games through the Netherlands, the Caribbean and Dutch schools abroad.
The “King Games” are organized by Krajicek Foundation and Cruyff Foundation and took place for the first time in 2013 as part of the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander. They are a sporty initiative for all primary school students in the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. The purpose of the “King Games” is to promote a healthy and sporting society.
