Princess Marie’s Working Visit to Cambodia – Day Two

Princess Marie started the second day of her working visit di lei in Cambodia today, Monday April 4, by paying a visit to the DanChurchAid’s office in Phnom Penh where she met with the organization’s locals employees and volunteers.
Afterwards the Princess visited the organization Mith Samlanh. This organization, one of DanChurchAid’s partners, was establisjed in 1994 and works with “marginalized children/youth, their families and their communities to build their futures and to develop creative projects that effectively support the children to become in independent and productive members of the community. During the visit the Princess met with the children and played with them.
Then Princess Marie visited Chbar Ampov, a district of Phnom Penh, where DanChurchAid is involved in the support of vulnerable families.
Later the Princess paid a visit to the Cambodian League for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights (LICADHO), a non-governmental organization established in 1992 that is “at the forefront of efforts to protect civil, political, economic and social rights in Cambodia and to promote respect for them by the Cambodian government and institutions”. DanChurchAid cooperates with the organization.
In the evening the Princess attended a reception held on the occasion of DanChurchAid’s 100th anniversary at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Phnom Penh. Prince Tesso Sisowath, artistic director of the Royal Cambodian Ballet, was among the present.
In her speech the Princess stated that “all people are equal and that everyone should be treated with dignity and love”.
