Royal Tour of The Caribbean: Farewell Jamaica, Hello Bahamas

Today, Thursday March 24, The Duke and Duchess had one last engagement in Jamaica before leaving for the Bahamas, the third and last stop of the Platinum Jubilee Tour of the Caribbean.
The Royal couple was present at the inaugural Commissioning Parade for service personnel from across the Caribbean who have recently completed the Caribbean Military Academy’s Officer Training Programme at Up-Park Camp, headquarters of the Jamaica Defence Force. The Governor-General of Jamaica was present as well.
The Duke was the Reviewing Officer for the Parade and handed out two awards: the International Sword and the Sword of Honours, while the Duchess handed out the International Achievement Award and the Jamaica Military Commendation Medal for Excellence.
The Duke and the Duhcess departed the ceremony stood in the back of a dark green open-top Land Rover, the same used previously by the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh during their visits in Jamaica in 1953, 1966, 1975 and 1983.
In early afternoon the Royal Couple departed Jamaica from Norman Manley International Airport heading to the Bahamas, the third and last stop of the tour.
Upon the arrival at the Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau, Bahamas, the Duke and the Duchess were welcomed by by Governor General, Cornelius Alvin Smith and his wife Lady Clara Smith, Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper and Attorney General Ryan Pinder. The Duke inspected the guard of honour and the anthems were played.
Later the Royal couple was recieved by the Prime Minister of The Bahamas, Philip Davis and his wife Ann-Marie Davis at his office in Nassau.
