Dutch Royal Family Participate in NL DOET 2022
Like every year, members of the Dutch Royal Family were present for the National Volunteer Day, NL DOET, on March 11 and 12.
Yesterday, Friday March 11, Princess Beatrix took part in the National Volunteer Day, NL DOET.
The Princess volunteered at the De Schaapskooi children’s farm in Bilthoven, a village in the province of Utrecht.
This children’s farm is part of the care organization Reinaerde where people with intellectual disabilities deal with daytime activities.
The Princess, along with employees, and volunteers, took care of the animals, planted violets and daffodils and painted the teahouses.
Today, Saturday March 12, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima volunteered at the Op Aarde care farm in Brielle, a town in the province of South Holland.
This care farm produces and sells food but also offers daytime activities to elderly people with dementia. Along with employees and volunteers, the King and the Queen helped by pruning the trees, sanding garden benches, cleaning the furniture in the sitting room, mucking out the stables.
Between March 11 and 12, in about 5,500 places in the Netherlands, volunteers participate in the National Volunteer Day.
NL DOET is organized by The Oranje Fund, with King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima as patrons.
