The Duchess of Cambridge in Denmark: February 22-23

Yesterday, Tuesday February 22, the Duchess of Cambridge started a two-day working visit to Denmark focused on The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, launched by the Duchess in June 2021.
The Duchess started the first day by visiting the Copenhagen Infant Mental Health Project (CIMHP), “a research project that seeks to promote the mental well-being of infants and their parents”. During the visit the Duchess met with professors and nurses and was informed about “Danish experiences in promoting mental health among infants and young children and their parents”.
Then, at The Children’s Museum, learned how the project “Understand Your Baby” support first time parents.
The first day ended with a visit at the Campus Carlsberg, at Copenhagen University College. There the Duchess visited “PartyLab” project, a play laboratory that aims to create a learning environment for students training to be early years professionals. This project was developed by the LEGO Foundation and Copenhagen University College.
The second and last day in Denmark, today Wednesday February 23, began for the Duchess with a visit at the Stenurten Forest Kindergarten, a Danish kindergarten where the children have lessons outside. During the visit the Duchess met with the staff to be informed about the kindergarten’s pedagogy and then played with the children.
At around noon the Duchess was received by Queen Margrethe and Crown Princess Mary in the Knights’ Hall in Christian IX’s Palace at Amalienborg. After the meeting the Duchess and the Crown Princess walked through Amalienborg Castle Square heading to Frederik VIII’s Palace where the Crown Princess hosed a private lunch for the Duchess.
Afterwards the Duchess, accompanied by Crown Princess Mary, paid a visit to the Danner Crisis Centre, “a secure refuge to the female victims of violence”. The Duchess was informed about the collaboration between the shelter and the Mary Foundation that distributes around 2,000 backpacks filled with a basic need for necessities to children who are in a crisis center with their mother.
