Princess Ingrid Alexandra Visits the Norwegian Institutions
Today, Thursday January 21, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, on the eve of her 18th birthday, paid a visit to several Norwegian institutions.
The first stop was the Storting, the Norwegian Parliament, where the Princess was welcomed by the President, Masud Gharahkhani.
The Princess toured the Storting hall and met with the first Vice President, Svein Harberg and the Storting’s youngest representative, Maren Grøthe and she was informed about the work of the National Assembly. The visit ended at the Eidsvollsgalleriet, the former Storting Assembly Hall, where the Princess signed the honor book.
The following visit was at the Supreme Court where Princess Ingrid Alexandra was welcomed by Toril Marie Øie, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. The Princess was informed about the history and the work of the Supreme Court, toured the Supreme Court House and sat in the King’s Chair, a very special chair from 1749 where only royals are allowed to sit.
The last visit at the institutions was at the office of the Norwegian Prime Minister, Jonas Gahr Støre where the Princess was reunited with the Prime Minister and members of the government at the table where daily the government hold the meetings. Princess Ingrid Alexandra was informed about how the government works and the relationship between the government and the Storting.
