Dutch Royals Attend The Formula One Grand Prix
Today, Sunday September 5, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, along with their two daughters, Princesses Catharina-Amalia and Ariane, were present at the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort.
About two hours before the start of the race, the Royal Couple and the Princesses paid a visit to the Red Bull Racing garage where they met with the Dutch racing driver Max Verstappen and the Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner. The Dutch Royals toured the Red Bull Racing garage and the Dutch driver showed to them the cockpit of his Red Bull car.
Max Verstappen was the race’s winner and the royal family attended at the podium ceremony.
The King, along with his cousin Prince Bernhard, was present at the Saturday qualification.
The Formula 1 Grand Prix returned to the Netherlands after 36 years, the last Dutch Grand Prinx took place in 1985.
