Princesses Leonor and Alexia start School Year in Wales
Monday August 30, the Princess of Asturias, eldest daughter of the King and Queen os Spain and Princess Alexia, the second daughter of Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, has left Spain and the Netherlands to start their studies in the United Kingdom. The Princesses will complete the International Baccalaureate program at the United World College of the Atlantic (UWC Atlantic College) in Llantwit Major in Wales. Princesses Leonor and Alexia will stay in Wales for a two-year course and will be classmates.
It is the same College that the Dutch King attended from 1983 to 1985. The Duchess of Brabant, heir to the Belgian throne, studied at the college two years ago.
On the occasion of their departures, the Spanish and Dutch Royal Courts shared some photos. In Spain the King, Queen, Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofia were pictured at the airport just before the princess’ departure for Wales. The Dutch court shared a photo of Princess Alexia, which was made by the King: she posed in front of the door of Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague carrying two bags.
