King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia get vaccinated against Coronavirus
King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden have had their first dosage of the Pfizer vaccine on January 15 at Stenhammer Castle in Södermanland.
This has come with some criticism in Sweden as the couple have received the vaccine a month before the rest of Sweden’s over 70s will get to have their turn. The couple hope they can “set an example to the public”.
King Carl Gustaf said “the great vaccination against Covid-19 is now underway around our country.
‘It is my hope that everyone who has the opportunity to be vaccinated in these coming months chooses to do so, so that together and as soon as possible we can get through this difficult time”.
King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway have also been vaccinated, as has King Salman of Saudi Arabia.
