The Queen and Prince Philip announced that they had received a Coronavirus vaccine as per the national guidelines that state those over the age of 80 are to receive the vaccine first.

According to the statement, a doctor came to vaccinate the royal couple at Windsor Castle, where they have been isolating. Their oldest son, Prince Charles, and their oldest grandson, Prince William, have both had Coronavirus.

The UK started vaccinating on December 8 after having had the Pfizer vaccine arrived in the country in late November. Margaret Keenan, a grandmother in her 80s, was the first person in the world to be vaccinated against Coronavirus, which has caused over 60,000 deaths in the UK.

The first known case of Coronavirus in the UK came in January 2020, though others are reported to have had the virus as early as September 2019. The virus spread to epidemic level in February, having already spread around Europe and East Asia.
