On September 25, it was announced that Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank were expecting their first child, which is due at the beginning of 2021.

Princess Eugenie shared a photo of baby booties on Instagram to announce the news. The Royal Family then posted on their official Twitter that “The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news”. Sarah Ferguson, Princess Eugenie’s mother, also shared her delight after hearing the announcement on her own Instagram page.

Eugenie and Jack married in October 2018 after they had been dating for seven years. Jack is a brand manager for Casamigos Tequila, co-founded by George Clooney, who was a guest at the wedding along with his wife Amal. His family are relations to the Brooksbank baronets, and his father George Brooksbank is a company director and accountant. The wedding took place at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

The new baby will be 11th in line to the British throne, meaning that Prince Edward will be pushed down to 12th in line.
