Duchess of Cambridge gets stuck in at EACH Hospice

On June 27, the Duchess of Cambridge paid a visit to EACH’s “The Nook” clinic in Norwich now social distancing measures have been eased in the UK.

Kate chatted to people with severe illnesses and disabilities who are being helped by the East Anglia Children’s Hospice, to mark the end of National Children’s Hospice Week. The hospice gives disabled children and their families a chance to have some creative and relaxing fun and therapy, and also offer support and advice to parents and carers.

Kate and the children planted sunflowers, where she said that she has been doing the same activity with her own children during lockdown, though this has left six year-old Prince George feeling “grumpy” as his brother Prince Louis won the sunflower growing competition Kate hosted for the children. Sunflowers are a symbol of hospices as they portray joy and the seeds represent the patients in their care.

Kate then visited Fakenham Garden Centre, where she admitted that she had been missing her own family as she hasn’t seen them since pre-lockdown.
