The Queen celebrated her official birthday alone at Windsor Castle on June 13, where she watched a performance from the Welsh Guards.

Normally the Queen is joined by her family and extended family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace after a carriage parade, which is also attended by large crowds of members of the public. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, this year the celebrations were very limited.

The Queen, whose birthday is April 21, was given a salute followed by a marching display with less members of the regiment than usual due to government social distancing measures.

The Royal Opera Chorus also performed pieces for the Queen via Zoom which was watched at Windsor Castle.
