King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima Arrive in Indonesia Ahead of State Visit
Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima arrived in Indonesia today, Monday March 9, ahead of their four-day state visit to the country.
Upon their arrival at the Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport in Jakarta the Royal Couple was greeted with a welcoming ceremony with a guard of honour and Indonesian officials.
Afterwards Queen Maxima, as special advocate of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Inclusive Finance for Development, had several meeting focused on the state of good access to financial services in the country. The Queen spoke with representatives of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and with national and regional CEOs of several multinationals.
The King and the Queen, along with four Ministers, will visit the cities of Jakarta, Yogyakarta and the Islands of Kalimantan and Sumatra.
