Queen Mathilde visits the Province of Liège

Yesterday, Wednesday January 15, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde paid a visit to the Province of Liège. King Philippe didn’t attend the visit because he went to Oman to pay his respects after the death of Sultan Qaboos and to meet the new Sultan Haitham ben Tarek.
The visit started in the municipality of Lincent where the Queen, along with the governor of the Province and the mayor of the municipality, visited the Residence CHC Racour, a nursing and care home. The Queen meet with staff and residents and attended a round table focused on the work of the residence.
Afterwards, in the municipality of Waremme, the Queen paid a visit to the headquarters of the J&Joy company, a clothing brand active in the social and philanthropic world. Then Queen Mathilde visited the production site of BioWanze in the municipality of Wanze.
BioWanze is the largest bioethanol producer in Belgium and during the visit the Queen was informed about the production and observed the functioning of the biomass boiler.
The visit ended in the municipality of Huy where Queen Mathilde greeted the people gathered at the Grand Place and then attended a reception at the Town Hall
