Queen hosts Christmas lunch for family
The Queen hosted the annual Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace on December 18 where members of the immediate and extended royal family gathered together.
Those absent from the event of the immediate family were the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their son Archie, as they are spending a private break over the Christmas period.
The Queen has hosted the Christmas lunch every Christmas as it is a time for the whole royal clan to get together and chat with the extended family, most of whom don’t stay at Sandringham for Christmas Day. The royals reportedly have Sandringham-bred turkey for lunch.
Princess Beatrice of York was late for the lunch as she had come from a prior engagement, whilst the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in different cars. The Earl of Snowdon was seen braving the rainy weather on a bike when leaving the palace after the lunch.
